What’s new?

We have a few news items for the Fall 2003 semester…
New catalogue: First off, you may have noticed that the catalogue looks different. In mid-August, the Library moved to a new catalogue system from a company called SIRSI. The new catalogue works in much the same way as the old one in that you can still search by keyword, author, title, etc. for resources in the Librarys collections. You can now narrow your search to a specific Mohawk campus, check the spelling of your search words, and create a list of items to print or email using the keep feature. Its the same great service, wrapped in a new package! Access the new catalogue by selecting the catalogue link from The BRAIN.

AskTheBRAIN: We also have a brand new virtual reference service, AskTheBRAIN! Select the AskTheBRAIN link from the left side of The BRAIN home page to access live help via chat software, and watch as library staff demonstrate searches, push web pages to you and help you find online information. Mohawk library is working in association with libraries at Seneca, Algonquin, George Brown and New College, England to bring this new dimension in reference help to the college community! Check out this new service Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until 5:00pm.

New look for The BRAIN: And last but not least, The BRAIN has had a facelift! We have a new logo and look. Take a peek and let us know what you think!
