Giving & Getting: Mohawk College Walks for Wellness

Welcome to Mohawk College!

While starting a new, or continuing in, an academic program can be a time of great excitement, it can also require a lot of adjustment; and, making these adjustments can be downright stressful!

In fact, when I selected some of the items listed on Holmes and Rahe’s (1967) social readjustment scale related to moving and starting school, I came up with a score of 193.

So, if you’re feeling stressed out, rather than keeping all of this stress to yourself, one of the best ways of dealing with it making sure you ask for help.

A good resource to check out is the Self Help Subject Guide. The Library has partnered with Counselling Services to make you aware of resources available to you.  We have a variety of books, audio recordings, and online sources to help you through the rough times, while you wait for your appointment with a counsellor.  The site below might be a great place to start.

Also, if coming to school at Mohawk College has caused you to experience a major change in your recreation, or social activities; have I got a solution for you.

In support of the Kids Help Phone, on Sunday, September 30th at 10 AM, plan on attending the  Mohawk College Walk for Wellness,

taking place at Location: Cliffview Park/Chedoke Stairs – 26 Upper Paradise Road by Scenic Drive.
