As part of the college IT department’s ongoing commitment to providing quality services at Mohawk College, the staff in Information Technology will be doing system upgrade work that will impact the access to the library’s licensed databases starting Friday, Nov. 2, at 4:30 p.m. and continuing until Monday, Nov. 5, at 8:30 a.m.
1) You will not be able to access the libraries licensed resources from offsite from Nov. 2, at 4.30pm – Nov. 5, 8..30am. The resources affected are the databases listed on our All Databases page.
2) The resources listed on the All Databases page will be accessible from onsite. That means that if you visit any of our library locations on the weekend, you will be able to access our licensed resources.
3) The IT work will also affect wireless access. That means that you will not be able to access the wireless network when you visit any of our library locations this weekend. Also, if you borrow one of our laptops on the weekend, you will not be able to connect to the wireless on the borrowed laptop.
4) This does not affect access to our library catalogue or your library account. You will be able to log in to your library account and search the library catalogue this weekend. Any licensed resources linked in the catalogue that require logging in with your username and password from offsite, however, will not be accessible.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please be sure to get a head start on your assignments by visiting us this week!
