The Cummings Library & Collaboratory are welcoming nearly 100 guests for an exciting event tomorrow! The Library of the Future – What is Your Vision is an afternoon of conversation with community partners, library staff and academic colleagues.
Michael Ridley, the keynote speaker for this event, is a librarian, and former CIO & Chief Librarian at the University of Guelph. We look forward to his presentation, The Crisis in Academic Libraries and Why This is Such a Good Thing. Mike is a highly respected professional in the academic and library world. Currently on sabbatical, Mike is working on several writing projects, taking courses and sharing his vision and ideas with colleagues.
In the spirit of learning, sharing information, and collaboration, the keynote will be followed by informal roundtable discussions with all participants. But it doesn’t stop there! As we share our ideas and vision for creating dynamic libraries of the future, we encourage you to participate with us. Why not share your vision of the future academic library to #MoLibFuture or help build a wall of suggestions and inspiration by clicking here. We’d look forward to hearing from you!
Those registered to attend the event, and who are driving to the Fennell Campus, are able to park in lot P8. This preferred parking lot can be accessed via the entrance on West 5th, and is conveniently located on the north-east corner of the campus. Library staff members look forward to meeting event attendees tomorrow and discovering what your Library of the Future is.
