Isn’t it just great when July 1st is a Monday or a Friday?? A real long weekend. So much to do, so little time! Summer long weekends mean different things to different people. Do you like camping or spending time at the cottage? A picnic followed by fireworks?? Family gatherings? Fireworks in Ottawa sound pretty fantastic. If you can’t get away, you can still see fireworks in Hamilton. If your ideal Canada Day would include some history, you’re really in luck – you can head down to Pier 8 to see the Tall Ships. They’re going to be here as part of the War of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration.
Now you just know that a library blog really wants to give you lots more information about the War of 1812, but since there’s a long weekend coming, we’ll let it go for now. Well, except to provide this link if you’d like to know more about the Bicentennial Commemoration website. And of course to add that you can always ask us to help you find more info if you need it (sorry, we can’t help it).
Share your Canada Day plans or tips about Canada Day events with us. Oh, and don’t forget – all of our library locations are closed on Monday, July 1st. Relax and enjoy Canada Day!!
