We all live in a yellow submarine

submarineOn this day in 1968, The Beatles released their feature-length animated motion picture entitled “Yellow Submarine”.

This film was “inspired by a song and hailed as an avant-garde amalgam of pop art, Beatles music, and highly innovative animation (The Beatles Store, 2013)”.  According to Heinz Edelmann, the film’s art director, this film was a success because it was a series of interconnected short films that were a collage of classic and modern images.

If you want to learn more about the fab four, check out The Beatles: The biography; or, learn to play the songs from Yellow Submarine borrow Learn to play the Beatles to a tee from the Cummings Library.

And don’t forget, all you need is love!
