Monday, August 5, 2013 – Happy whatever day !

While some provinces (BC, SK, NB & NU) will celebrate a statutory holiday, other provinces, like Ontario, will celebrate it as an optional holiday.

That’s right!  This coming Monday, August 5, 2013, is the first Monday in the month of August and that means it is a holiday.

Since this Monday is an optional holiday in Ontario, some municipalities have tailored the celebration to honor significant people in the history of the province.

So, whether you are celebrating Simcoe Day in Toronto, Colonel By Day in Ottawa, Joseph Brant Day in Burlington, Founders Day in Brantford, McLaughlin Day in Oshawa, Alexander Mackenzie Day in Sarnia, James Cockburn Day in the Town of Coburg,  John Galt Day in Guelph, or just the plan ol’ August Holiday Weekend – Enjoy the day.

A reminder that all Mohawk College library locations will be closed on Monday, August 5th, and regular hours will resume on Tuesday.
