The Caribana Festival officially kicked off on July 9th, but Caribana weekend starts Thursday, August 1st, and the party goes until Sunday August 4th. The weekend is filled with lots of family friendly events to check out! There is a King and Queen competition, Pan Alive (the Steel Pan competition), and a Carnival Summertime Barbeque at Eglinton Square. Of course, one of the best ways to enjoy Caribana is attending the grande parade, held on Saturday, August 3rd. The parade is the largest Caribbean parade in North America and draws over 1 million people. Caribbean calypso music, elaborate costumes, and lively dancers make for an incredible experience.
