The City of Hamilton has five sets of stairs leading from the Hamilton mountain down the escarpment. Each set of stairs is its own mountain to climb for beginners and long-time enthusiasts The Hamilton mountain stairs, or simply “the stairs” to locals, are a fixture of the picturesque escarpment and a great way to exercise. The stairs include: Chedoke (289 steps), Dundurn (326 steps), James (227 steps), Kenilworth (228 steps), and finally the behemoth, known as Wentworth (498 steps).
