Celebrate the end of summer with the annual Winona Peach Festival this weekend. This community event is hosted by local organizations, sports teams, and churches, The funds raised this weekend are donated to registered charities or non-profit groups, assist in funding for local sports teams, and support community services.
The festival has entertainment, food vendors, arts and crafts, commercial vendors, demonstrations, and a midway. Whether you’ve lived in the Winona area, or have ever been to the Peach Festival, I think that everyone can agree it’s really all about the peach sundae! There is a free HSR shuttle from Eastgate Square, free midway rides from 4-5 pm on Friday, and contests on their Facebook page. Get the most out of the festival by planning your visit with the Peach Fest app.
If you’re inspired by all the arts and crafts, and are thinking about making something of your own, the Mohawk College Library can help. The magazine Crafts “n Things is a general crafting publication that includes how-to’s and money-saving tips. Online subscriptions are available through the e-Journal portal – a tool that allows you to search for specific magazine and journal titles.
