The warmer weather has arrived in southern Ontario and what better way to enjoy the sun and get some fresh air (and exercise!), than by riding a bike.
To kick off bike month, the Sustainability Office at Mohawk College is hosting an event at the Fennell Campus. Monday, May 26th is Bike to Work Day; participants who bike to work get a free gift. For more information about other bike month events, go to the Sustainability Office web page.
If you are looking for biking trails, look no further. The City of Hamilton has a number of trails for walking and biking. From waterfront trails to escarpment trails, from Dundas to Stoney Creek, there is something for everyone to discover.
The Mohawk College Library has lots of information for the cycling enthusiast. The magazine Bicycling is devoted to bicycle travel with features on trips and vacations, racing, health, and equipment. It is available online through the eJournal Portal. The library also has an Environmental Sustainability subject guide that includes books, e-books, journals, apps, and some of the latest trends and issues in the field.
