In the city: Summer festivals

The summer season just would not be the same without a music festival.  This weekend in the city, the Ancaster Fairgrounds welcomes the Festival of Friends.  The festival is celebrating its 39th year, and offers free admission and family friendly events.  Weekend parking passes are available, or you are welcome to take the HSR shuttle service directly to the fairgrounds.  As always, the festival will include multiple stages and musical lineups, food of the world, arts and crafts, and a midway.

Promoting events can be a large undertaking; organizing volunteers, vendors, sponsors – the list is endless!  Mohawk College offers Continuing Education programs to help you learn more and further your career in all these areas.  The latest CE catalogue is now available and registration is open for courses beginning in the fall.  The Community Services and Support certificates offered at Mohawk College include: Event Management, Fundraising/Development Associate, Leadership and Management in the Not-for-Profit sector, and Volunteer Management.

If you are already taking courses to complete one of the above certificates, or planning on registering for the fall, the Mohawk College Library has all the resources you will  need to successfully complete your program.  You can access the best resources through the library Subject Guides, which were created to assist students with their research needs.  The Community Leadership – CE guide includes books, journals, websites and videos to support your learning objectives.
