Supercrawl 2014

This weekend in the city, James Street North is celebrating it’s 6th annual Supercrawl!  There is no better way to spend the weekend than enjoying local artists, musicians, family events, literary readings, and lots of food.  This year Hamilton band the Arkells are part of the huge lineup of shows; you can read more about the Arkells from this Hamilton Spectator article.

Supercrawl developed out of the C & C Music Festival, the James Street North artcrawl, and the desire to showcase Hamilton’s community of local talent.  Today, six years later, organizers are anticipating even higher numbers than last year, which boasted over 100,000 people in attendance.  For more information about this weekend-long festival, check out the daily schedule for event listings.  Before you head out to the festival, be sure to take a look at the Supercrawl map for directions and road closures.

Mohawk College is a zone sponsor of Supercrawl, and there will be a Mohawk College Fashion Stage featuring live performances on Saturday, September 12th, and Sunday September 14th.

Mohawk College Library has lots of resources to help musicians develop their skills.  The Music subject guide includes books, e-books, articles, musical scores, videos, and apps to help you discover everything you need to know about musical instruments, marketing and the music industry.  The Trends & Issues page includes selected articles to help keep you up to date on industry news.
